Jonny "Blues Boy"
Robinson, my best friend and my father has inspired me to be the woman, wife, and mother that I am today. I was raised to
appreciate the little things in life and not to take one moment of it for granted. I was fortunate to have a father that cared
about and took interest in my interest and was always there to encourage and support me.
Jonny, the entertainer,
was one of the most hard-working fun individuals to be around. I can remember growing up, friends and family members wanting
to come visit just to be in the presence of such a great man. My father could change the mood of anyone by his presence alone.
Being such a diverse person, he could turn your frown into a smile (in his previous life he was a comedian) or have you dance
away your fears.
As a very young child,
I was able to travel with my father's band. One of my most memorable times was how I always fell asleep in my mothers' arms
listening to my father sing the blues.

Growing up, I was raised on the blues; you would enter our home and there may be music playing and my father singing and doing
the James Brown across the livingroom floor. That was just my "daddy" he was never shy, and that's where I got my taste of
music and learned about my heritage. My father would show me pictures of his band and tell me all kind of stories, of having
to carry all of the band equipment through three feet of mud. Stories like that and seeing the self-confidence that my father
had; was unbreakable. It made me proud of my "daddy". No one could tell me nothing negative about my father, because to me,
he was the best dad, dancer, and could sing better than any tape or record he played.
Twenty-one years later. Now that
I'm an adult I look back and remember the fishing trips and standing on my father's feet as we danced across the floor to
Bobby Womack. Bobby "Blues" Bland and Johnny Taylor. In my heart he's still got it and he's still the best!! Jonny "Blues
Boy" Robinson... My role model and most of all my "DADDY".
